About me

My name is Tianyang Jiang (姜天洋). I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Tsinghua University in 2023. Before that, I received my B.Eng. in Software Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2018. Now I am a researcher in OS Kernel Lab, 2012, Huawei and study storage/filesystems on HarmonyOS.

My research interests span distributed systems and storage systems.

Ph.D. Research

Cloud tenants demand more on the quality of service nowadays in cloud storage systems. My goal is to achieve the service-level agreement in each tier of cloud storage hierarchy, including consistent latency/bandwidth and low abort rate. So my works lie in distributed systems, in-memory systems, storage systems.

I am also interested in mobile filesystems like F2FS.

Here are some of my projects:

• Achieving consistent low latency in all-flash arrays: FusionRAID (FAST'21)
• Alleviating aborts for in-memory distributed transactions: Aurogon (FAST'22)
• Building efficient redundant array of ZNS SSDs with ZRWA: Zebra (HPCA'25)
